1. Carbon Footprint Reduction: We are actively working to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions by implementing energy-efficient measures, adopting renewable energy sources, and optimizing our transportation and logistics networks.

2. Resource Conservation: We strive to conserve natural resources by implementing efficient waste management systems, promoting recycling and circular economy practices, and minimizing water consumption at all our plants and offices.

3. Biodiversity Preservation: We are committed to protecting and preserving biodiversity by integrating biodiversity considerations into our land use planning, supporting habitat restoration programs, and promoting responsible sourcing practices.

4. Sustainable Building Practices: All our factories, offices and projects under our units are built keeping into consideration minimum carbon footprints. Most of the real estate projects are certified Green Buildings. All our hotels have been built using the highest principles of COP 21.

Social Responsibility

Governance and Ethics

We believe that sound governance practices are the foundation for sustainable business growth. We are committed to maintaining high ethical standards, transparency, and accountability across all levels of our organization. Our governance and ethics initiatives include:

1. Code of Conduct: We have a comprehensive code of conduct that outlines our expectations for ethical behaviour, integrity, and compliance with laws and regulations. We provide training and awareness programs to ensure adherence to these principles.

2. Stakeholder Engagement: We value the input and perspectives of our stakeholders. We engage in dialogue with shareholders, employees, customers, suppliers, and communities to understand their expectations, address concerns, and foster long-term relationships.

Corporate Social Responsibility

Through our CSR wing SM Foundation, we actively engage with local communities by supporting education, healthcare, and other social initiatives. We collaborate with community organizations, encourage employee volunteerism, and contribute to sustainable development projects in Northeast India.
