Shri Sarat Kr. Jain

Chairman

Shri Sarat Kr. Jain has been instrumental in enabling SM Group to emerge as one of the best-managed business houses in the Northeast. He has strong focus on corporate governance, human capital development and process -oriented management. He has served as the Chairman of Federation of Industries & Commerce of Northeast Region (FINER) for 5 years and also as a Board of Director in Apollo Hospitals, Guwahati. He is currently also a member of the Assam Electricity Regulatory Commission.

Mr. Vikas Agarwal

MD and CEO, SM Developers

After completing his stint as an enterprise systems consultant with Accenture at their Delaware (US) office, Vikas has been involved with his family business as the Group CEO since 2004. Besides growing the steel distribution business 10x in 5 years, adding newer products to the distribution portfolio and expansion of the Road Sciences division, he has led successful diversification into real estate and hospitality.

He now serves as the MD& CEO of SM Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. (SM Developers) with primary interests in Real Estate, Hotels, Infrastructure & PPP projects. While having successfully developed and opened the Novotel Guwahati and Vivanta Meghalaya Shillong, SM Developers has delivered a million sq ft of projects and currently has a pipeline of over 2.5 million sq ft.

He is the Founder of Young Presidents Organisation – NE India Chapter, member of Indian Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India, a Governing Council member of the National Construction Skills Development Council of India, Secretary of the Mayo Alumni North East India and also an Executive Council member of the Mayo College Old Boys’ Society, Ajmer.

Mr. Rajeev Agarwal

CEO, Bitchem Asphalt Technologies Ltd

Mr. Rajeev Agarwal spearheads the development of the Group’s road sciences division. He focuses on R&D and business development and has worked towards developing and nurturing value-added businesses. He has a Masters in Financial Management from Lancaster University, UK.

Mr. Rishi Agarwal

Director and CEO, SM Corporation Ltd.

Mr. Rishi Agarwal currently heads the business operations of the steel distribution business, SM Corporation Ltd. He is a Graduate from the Singapore Institute of Management & holds a degree in Business Administration from the University of New York at Buffalo. Before joining SM Group, he gained extensive work experience with a Singapore-based chemicals transnational distributor.

Ms. Suruchi Agarwal

Chief People’s Officer

An MBA by education, Ms. Suruchi Agarwal heads the HR function of SM Group having undergone initial training in the distribution business. She is responsible for planning recruitment, training, manpower planning and retention apart from all other strategic initiatives related to human capital.
