After completing his stint as an enterprise systems consultant with Accenture at their Delaware (US) office, Vikas has been involved with his family business as the Group CEO since 2004. Besides growing the steel distribution business 10x in 5 years, adding newer products to the distribution portfolio and expansion of the Road Sciences division, he has led successful diversification into real estate and hospitality. He now serves as the MD& CEO of SM Infrastructure Pvt. Ltd. (SM Developers) with primary interests in Real Estate, Hotels, Infrastructure & PPP projects. While having successfully developed and opened the Novotel Guwahati and Vivanta Meghalaya Shillong, SM Developers has delivered a million sq ft of projects and currently has a pipeline of over 2.5 million sq ft. He is the Founder of Young Presidents Organisation - NE India Chapter, member of Indian Chamber of Commerce, Confederation of Real Estate Developers Association of India, a Governing Council member of the National Construction Skills Development Council of India, Secretary of the Mayo Alumni North East India and also an Executive Council member of the Mayo College Old Boys’ Society, Ajmer.
